INCAA starts the production of ESAS: Entrance Surveillance and Alarm System
One of our customers who is a professional electrical contractor was looking for a solution for preventing his customer for a certain type of shoplifting. That customer, a large supermarket company, experienced an upcoming phenomenon where “customers” loaded their shopping cart with expensive products and then hurried back through the entrance to the parking lot were a henchmen stood ready with the getaway car. There the goods were dumped in the trunk by tipping the cart and the thieves drove away. Often it was not noticed by the employees of the supermarket or the employees could not react fast enough to take the right measures. INCAA could provide the solution by developing an intelligent alarm system that recognizes these events. During the development process the ease of installation, use and maintenance was kept in mind and special attention was taken to prevent false alarms which resulted in a product that perfectly matched the expectations of our customer. INCAA delivers Low Frequency Phase Shifter modules After investigating the pro’s and con’s of all possibilities INCAA was contacted to provide the solution. The module is autonomous working and receives an analogue sinusoidal input signal from the test system that is shifted by 90 degrees in a frequency range of 0.1 to 1 Hz. The output signal is fed into the test system again. The hardware is based on a ARM microcontroller and the software is designed with LabVIEW Embedded for ARM microcontrollers. The LabVIEW Embedded Module for ARM Microcontrollers delivers graphical programming to the popular embedded 32-bit reduced instruction set computing (RISC) processor. INCAA already has gained lots of experience with ARM based microcontrollers and the LabVIEW for ARM software development environment and could therefore complete this project according the formerly agreed time schedule.

INCAA starts upgrade of superconducting magnet test benches for LHC The collider tunnel contains two adjacent parallel beam pipes that intersect at four points, each containing a proton beam, which travel in opposite directions around the ring. Some 1,232 dipole magnets keep the beams on their circular path, while an additional 392 quadrupole magnets are used to keep the beams focused, in order to maximize the chances of interaction between the particles in the four intersection points, where the two beams will cross. In total, over 1,600 superconducting magnets are installed, with most weighing over 27 tonnes.
The electronic equipment of the original test benches is based on VME technology and is still operational. INCAA has modified its famous and widely used VME ADC module, VME-VK22-5723
After 15 years of production of the original VK22 module INCAA decided to redesign the module. The decision to redesign is made before components would become obsolete meaning that the module could not be manufactured and customers had to be disappointed. All specifications, software and hardware interface are kept exactly the same so customers can still use the new module in their application without having to change anything. This is another example of our Total-Life-Cycle product support which comprises:
INCAA has designed a unique signal generator For one of our customers who is a global operating and leading provider of quality traffic management and surveillance systems INCAA has designed a high speed signal generator. The module is especially intended for replicating sensor signals. The sensor itself can be at a remote location, even at the other end of the world, as long as it sends its data over the internet. The received data is processed and directly synthesised into analog and digital output signals that correspond to the original sensor signals. The module has a 1000BASE-TX (1Gb/s) Ethernet interface and comes in a 19” 1U enclosure with an internal power supply.
New data acquisition module for PCI Express form factor It comprises two analog input channels with a programmable input range from +/- 9 Volt to +/- 500 mV. The selected input signal is converted with a resoltion of 8 bits and max. 200 MSample/s. The module operating temperature range is 0-65 C. and the drift is max. 65 ppm/C. Digital frontpanel input signals start and stop the sampling process or synchronise the sampling process to the external world. The digitized data is directly transfered to the PC's main memory by DMA transfers. A sustained transfer speed of 175 Mbytes/s can be achieved. Althoug the module is tailor made for our customer specific application it shows our expertise, i.e.: precise analog and high speed digital design in combination with failsafe software drivers. New custom designed digitizer extends our VME module range
The VD80 module is the latest addition to our family of VME digitizers.
It is a galvanic isolated 16 channel digitizer with onboard memory in a 6U high VME form factor and it has extended trigger options. All channels are sampled simultaneous with 16 bit resolution. Samples are stored in onboard memory. The memory is organized as a ring buffer. After the event of a trigger a programmable number of post trigger samples will be acquired before sampling stops. The samples in memory can be read with DMA transfers. In parallel samples are also available through FIFOs at sub sample rates or through direct readout registers for control applications. The depth of the FIFOs is software selectable. The module has several trigger sources e.g.: software trigger, frontpanel trigger or analog input triggers. These analog input triggers can be set for each input seperately and are level, edge or window sensitive. They can be ANDed or ORed with other analog input triggers. |
