INCAA Computers unveils prototypes of an embedded controller board in the PXI Express form factor
The board is intended as a COMe CPU carrier board for use inside PXI Express chassis. There it can operate as the embedded controller for the chassis with features like CPU, hard drive, Ethernet, display port, RS232 serial, USB3.0 and USB2.0, mSATA SSD and PXI trigger control.
The board is intended for COMe basic type 6 CPU boards. Two types of CPU boards have been successfully implemented:
- Kontron COMe-bTL6 (11th Generation Intel® Core™ / Xeon® Processors)
- Kontron COMe-bCL6 (8th/9th Generation Intel® Core™ / Xeon® Processors)
CentOS Stream 8 is successfully installed and used for prototype tests.
Main features of the board:
- Compliance with PXIe standard for 3U system controller slot
- PCIe lane designed to meet PCIe GEN 3 specification
- 16x PCIe lanes routed to the PXIe backplane connector
- Possibility to install a full size mSATA SSD (supports mini mSATA)
- Xilinx XC7A50T-1FTG256C FPGA for PXI trigger management
- Heat spreader allows for 42 Watt dissipation in airflow of 1.0 – 1.5 m/s
- Front panel
- 1x RS232 port DSUB9 connector
- 4x USB 2.0
- 2x USB 3.0
- 1x 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN
- 1x DisplayPort
- 1x SMB Trigger line
